Last gig for a while…

I’ve shot Ralph Pelleymounter before and have his music regularly on my spotify, so I was incredibly pleased to be invited to shoot his gig at Dead Wax in Birmingham, supporting Shawn James. What a great way to be introduced to Shawn’s music too, an incredible live performer.

It was a pleasure to be there for sound check, to eat pizza, and to take a few casual photos with Ralph while at the venue. Photos below. We were all a little unsure whether we should actually be at a gig though, although we were gelling hands and not handshaking, the photography show in Birmingham had just been cancelled because of the pandemic, and nobody really knew what would happen to live shows and whether we should be crowded into a sell-out venue. [Post edit: little did we know this would be our last gig for a long time, it was such a superb evening].

I loved shooting Shawn James too, incredible musician and vocalist. Photos below.
